| Skye loves kids and furry friends. She is constantly amazed and inspired by the depth, wisdom and gamut of emotions they exhibit. In the spirit of capturing organic authenticity, her approach is fun, goofy, relaxed and calm yet professional and passionate. Often times it’s when the munchkin thinks the camera is off them, or the session is over that the most wonder-filled images are made. Skye’s love and compassion allow for a safe space where the child feels comfortable enough to show their unbridled uniqueness. This may come in the form of a smile, a pensive look, a scream, crying…Smiles are not forced, rather they are an outflow of whatever may be happening in the moment. Skye’s background in photography is expansive and began at age five when she received an automatic Fuji camera from her dad, an amateur photographer. Her passion for photographing culminated twenty-five years later when she attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. She received the Departmental Award for Excellence and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2004. In 2006 Skye adopted Shiva, a stray dog found on the streets of San Jose, California. A sweet, hilarious and loving soul, Shiva inspires Skye to practice unconditional love, play, laugh and wag as much as possible. The joy Shiva brings propels Skye to phototograph furry friends that gift the world their infinite wisdom, loyalty and unconditional love.
